Almost every household suffers from a raw sewage backup. It can cause a lot of inconveniences for the entire family. It is triggered by diverse things that are sometimes hard to identify. Very often tree roots growing into the sewer line are the cause. In other cases it may be a construction mishap or a problem with the structure of the piping itself that trigger sewage backups. Families with children frequently suffer from sewage backups triggered by the flushed objects, such as toys, blocking the pipe and making sewage water flow back into the bathroom. Plumbing problems can be even worse than a householder might be aware of. Strong odours of waste water can lead to lung and airways irritation. So, proper cleanup and maintenance after a sewage leakage or backflow are mandatory. A professional should be called to do the repairs. Still, it is better to prevent a problem than deal with it. Here are a few useful recommendations how to minimise the risk of sewage backups and leaks. • Make certain that shrubs and trees are planted at a secure distance away from the piping and other underground utilities. It will help minimize the risk of roots growing into the sewer line. • Reduce and remove extra detritus placed within sinks, showers and toilets. Never flush large items, for instance diapers or wipes, even if the products are claimed "flush-able". To deter children, install a toilet lid safety latch. Flushing or dumping grease into a drain line can be dangerous, since it will harden when it cools down and may lead to a clog in the line. • Some chemical cleaners are advertised as clog removers. But a lot of them can lead to physical damage to the piping. Powerful chemicals are caustic and can destroy and weaken the walls of the piping. It can induce a rupture or crack in the pipe walls. If you deal with problem that cannot be solved with a plunger, call a plumber expert in pipe and water lines, not only basic plumbing repair. They will not only do basic repairs, but also will do a sewage clean-up.
